POLICIES / VERSION 2026-10-23-MANUAL-LICENSE-V1

Terms of service.

Effective October 23, 2026.

These terms govern use of DOTVOLE and purchases of its 12-month software license. Creating a free account does not authorize a charge.

1. Service and account

DOTVOLE is an independent business prospecting tool that searches public FMCSA Company Census records. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation. You must be at least 18, authorized to act for your business, and provide accurate contact information. Verify your email, protect your credentials and promptly report unauthorized access.

2. License and permitted use

The 12-month license permits one business and one named user to use the software on up to two registered browsers or devices. Do not share or transfer credentials, resell access, bypass account or trial restrictions, overload the service or evade source limits. Additional users need separate authorization. You may use lawful exports in your business subject to source restrictions and applicable law. DOTVOLE retains rights to its software and branding, not ownership of U.S. government records or your customer information. See Acceptable use.

3. Free preview

A verified email and complete business profile unlock three successful searches of up to 25 leads each. CSV export and additional result pages are unavailable. There is no countdown or automatic charge. Failed and empty source searches do not use an allowance. Local customer exclusions may reduce the sample after a search counts. Temporary preview results expire after 24 hours without resetting the allowance. Do not create accounts to evade the limits.

4. Annual price and manual renewal

The price is a one-time $799 USD payment for 12 months. Any additional tax charged is disclosed before purchase. Checkout will identify the seller, total and term and require affirmative agreement before charging. There is no automatic renewal, recurring charge or need to cancel a future renewal. You must choose and pay for another term to continue paid access.

Your paid-through date appears in My account. Manual renewal opens 30 days before expiration. An early renewal adds 12 months to the existing paid-through date; a purchase after expiration starts a new 12-month term when payment is verified. Future purchases use the price and terms disclosed at that checkout. If you do not renew, paid features end at expiration. Failed or unconfirmed payments do not activate access. A return from checkout alone does not prove payment. Contact Support to discuss billing issues or account closure.

5. No-refund policy and exceptions

License fees are nonrefundable except where required by law or as expressly stated in the Terms. No refund for a single use, downloaded results or unused time during a paid term. The charge pays for access during the subscription term, not a guaranteed number of searches, records or sales. Try the free preview before buying.

We will correct confirmed duplicate charges and billing errors. This policy does not override mandatory cancellation, refund or other statutory rights, or prevent a good-faith billing dispute. If we permanently discontinue the paid service during your paid term, or terminate your account for convenience rather than your material breach, we will refund the unused prepaid portion. Other remedies required by law remain available.

6. FMCSA and other third-party availability

FMCSA, DOT Socrata, authentication, hosting and payment providers operate independently. We do not control their outages, delays, throttling, changes to records, API access, formats or policies. DOTVOLE does not guarantee continuous source availability, a minimum record count, uninterrupted searches or a particular response time. Broad searches may exceed browser memory or practical source limits.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for delays, failed searches or losses caused by third-party failures outside our reasonable control. A temporary source outage does not automatically create a refund or service-credit entitlement. We will take reasonable steps within our control to restore our integration. This clause does not excuse our own obligations, remove the permanent-discontinuation remedy above or limit non-excludable legal rights.

7. Data quality, screening and outreach

Records may be inaccurate, missing, outdated or duplicated. Active census status does not verify authority, insurance, insurability, creditworthiness or buying intent. Shared-contact checks can remove legitimate related businesses and miss intermediaries. Customer matching depends on your file, mapping and selected rules. Review results and independently verify important facts.

Public contact details are not consent to email, call or text. You are responsible for applicable marketing, privacy, do-not-call, suppression and opt-out rules and for your communications. DOTVOLE does not send campaigns to carrier prospects for you and is not a consumer-reporting, credit, legal or underwriting service.

8. Customer files and account information

Customer CSVs are processed only in your browser tab and are not transmitted to DOTVOLE or FMCSA. Refreshing or closing the tab clears the in-memory copy; keep your original file securely. Do not include sensitive customer data in support tickets. Account contact details, saved filters and service records are handled as described in the Privacy notice. Optional DOTVOLE tips and offers are separate from essential account and security messages.

9. Warranties and limits of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service and third-party records are provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or noninfringement. We do not guarantee data accuracy, lead quality, sales or protection against all unauthorized account sharing.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, consequential, special or punitive losses, including lost profits or opportunities arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to fees you paid to DOTVOLE in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, our express refund obligations or liability that cannot legally be limited. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations; mandatory rights prevail.

10. Suspension, changes and support

We may proportionately restrict access to address security incidents, credential sharing, nonpayment or material misuse. Where practical and safe, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. You may contact support to challenge an error. We will communicate material changes to paid terms before they take effect and obtain renewed agreement where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights.

Use Support for service questions, privacy requests and billing disputes. No guaranteed support response time or uptime service-level agreement is included. Ohio law governs this agreement except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise. Contact us first about a dispute so we can try to resolve it. This agreement does not require arbitration or waive mandatory statutory rights.
